Weekend With Mary Migraine and Matthew’s Misery.

Well, if you thought last weekend was a riot, let me introduce you to my latest unwanted companion: Mary Migraine. She’s clingy, relentless, and, frankly, a bit of a pain in the head, literally. Mary showed up on Saturday morning and has refused to leave ever since, making herself quite at home by sitting squarely on my skull. Bright lights? Loud noises? Forget it, I’m operating in near darkness, squinting out of one eye like a pirate who’s lost interest in adventure. Hence the reason I have not written much over the past few days.

But it doesn’t stop there. Poor Matthew has joined the misery parade with a bladder infection. Now, they did warn him this might happen post-chemo, but nobody mentioned the fine print: how excruciating it would actually be when it hit. He’s seriously considering putting his bladder up for adoption, and honestly, I’d sign the paperwork for him.

So here we are: I’m tiptoeing around the house like a vampire avoiding sunlight, and Matthew’s moving as if he’s just been put through a 19th-century mangle. What a pair! If there were a sport for feeling sorry for ourselves, we’d be going for gold.

Anyway, I hope your weekend has been less eventful and considerably more comfortable than ours. If you see Mary Migraine, please tell her she’s not welcome here anymore.

Here’s to better days ahead, preferably migraine- and infection-free!

Silly Disclaimer:

No actual bladders were harmed or put up for adoption during the making of this blog. Mary Migraine is not a licensed medical professional, and any resemblance to migraines, living or fictional, is purely coincidental (though deeply annoying). Side effects of reading may include mild chuckles, eye rolling, and a sudden urge to avoid bright lights. Proceed at your own risk, and with a large mug of tea.

Grief is a universal language that we all speak.

Grief is an emotion and sad feeling that the whole of humanity can connect with. We can all agree that at some stage in our lives we have lost somebody we loved, or somebody close to us. We can all understand that deep sadness that grief leaves behind and agree that we feel shock, disbelief and sadness.
