Wearing a Little Reminder That Never Leaves My Side

Every morning when I get dressed, there’s one small thing I never forget to put on: my cross bracelet. It’s simple, nothing fancy, just a delicate band with a tiny cross resting gently against my wrist. To anyone else, it might just look like a piece of jewellery. But to me? It’s so much more than that. It’s a constant, quiet reminder I carry with me everywhere I go.

Life gets busy, doesn’t it? Between rushing through days, juggling tasks, and facing all the little and big things that come my way, it’s all too easy to let my mind get pulled in a hundred different directions. Sometimes I get caught up in worries, or I feel tired, or I just plain forget what matters most. That’s where this little bracelet comes in. Every time I glance down and see it glint, or feel it rest lightly against my skin, it hits me all over again: He is with me. His Son is with me.

It doesn’t matter where I am—at home, out running errands, sitting in a meeting, or walking down the street. That little cross is right there, a physical sign of a love and a presence that never leaves. When I’m anxious, looking at it reminds me I don’t have to carry everything on my own. When I’m happy, it’s a little nudge to give thanks, right then and there. When I feel alone or unsure, it whispers the truth: I am never walking by myself.

I love that it’s subtle. I don’t wear it to draw attention or make a statement to others. I wear it because it’s for me—a personal, gentle reminder that my faith isn’t just something I think about on Sundays, but something I carry through every single moment of my life. It turns ordinary days into something more meaningful, turning small glances into little moments of connection.

Some people keep verses in their pockets, or stickers on their mirrors, or notes in their bags. For me, this bracelet is my reminder. It’s a small thing, yes—but it holds a huge truth. Every time I see it, I know I’m held, I’m guided, and I’m loved beyond measure. He and His Son are right here, beside me, always.

Do you have something small you wear or keep close that reminds you of what matters most? I’d love to hear about it.

Grief is a universal language that we all speak.

Grief is an emotion and sad feeling that the whole of humanity can connect with. We can all agree that at some stage in our lives we have lost somebody we loved, or somebody close to us. We can all understand that deep sadness that grief leaves behind and agree that we feel shock, disbelief and sadness.
